Team
Teachers with an eye for talent. Our teachers have high expectations of their pupils and have a sharp picture of each child: personal characteristics, interests and support needs. What the child already can and knows, what learning strategies work. The teachers follow the pupil's development and offer learning situations that are challenging. They have an eye for children's talents and put their qualities to use.
At our school, all teachers have received intensive English language training or are (near) native speakers. Internationalisation promotes teacher professionalisation and enriches the curriculum at the school. Working at our school requires continuous development for teachers. They master their subject and have up-to-date knowledge of didactics. Teachers work on the basis of their own professional insights based on sound scientific research and apply them in their daily practice. Through part-focused professionalisation and in learning teams, they continuously focus on improving education and the development of their pupils. This creates a stimulating school environment in which both pupil and teacher enjoy coming to school every day.
LeerKRACHT – method
School year 2021-2022, we started the LeerKRACHT method with our school. Using LeerKRACHT, we as a team continuously work on quality improvement of education for our pupils, in which we use various tools such as the board session (a weekly, short session, in which we discuss with each other the progress towards our goals). As a team, we learn from each other and improve our teaching together. There is plenty of room for everyone's input and we make use of each other's knowledge and expertise. We observe each other's lessons to see what effect they have on pupils. Our pupils are also involved because they give feedback on the lessons and thus contribute to continuous improvement. The LeerKRACHT approach is based on what has been proven to work in education. Research by Utrecht University shows that the Leerkracht approach is effective in strengthening teachers in their profession.
