Procedure for enrolling children who attend primary school for the first time:
The procedure of registration falls under the Primary Education Act (WPO). When a child is 4 years old, they can attend primary school in the Netherlands. Registering at schools in Utrecht is possible in the quarter that your child turns 3. From October 1, 2021 this registration will be done in a centralized way through the municipality.
1. Make an appointment for an information interview and tour
2. Register via https://naardebasisschool.utrecht.nl
The places will be distributed simultaneously every quarter for all children born in that same quarter. Therefore, the moment of registration within the quarter does not matter.

We expect there to be more demand for a place than we have spaces for. After the end of the quarter, you will receive an offer of a place through the municipality. It is important that you confirm that place to us by the specified deadline.
Are there are any places left after that? Then we will look at the rest of the applications. If necessary, there will be a lottery. This lottery is arranged in Utrecht. Did your child not get a place at our school? Then the urban application process automatically places your child at the 2nd, 3rd or next preferred school that does have a place. After the end of the quarter you will hear through the city application process if our school has a place for you. It is important that you confirm that place by the specified deadline.
3. Appropriate education for students who need extra support
If you confirm your child's place, we will ask you for additional information about your child. We may need to investigate further and information may be requested from the pre-school or nursery. The director will then decide on admission. You will be notified of this within 6 weeks. If there are particularities that require a more personal interview, we expect you to make an appointment with the school administration.
Our school has a duty of care: for a registered pupil with additional support needs, we investigate whether appropriate support is possible. If this is not possible then we will work with you to find a suitable place at another school. The decision on admission and removal of pupils rests with the competent authority.
